Academics

Holy Name School of Jesus Catholic School is accredited by the Kentucky Department of Education through the Kentucky Non-Public School Commission, Inc. We participate in Common Core Standards and the implementation of Diocesan academic standards, which is an ongoing process and one in which our faculty members serve as advisors to ensure horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment. Our curriculum includes more than reading, math, English, spelling, vocabulary, science and social studies. Religion is a vital part of our school day with formal instruction five days a week to include “Christ In Me” curriculum for all grades in which students learn how to live their faith.

We also include an introduction to the Spanish language and culture, technology, physical education, music, library among many other things. Our full Resource Department allows for one-on-one differentiated instruction. Our Middle School students have opportunities for high school credit in Spanish, English, and math. Each classroom is equipped with internet access; an Elmo projection system; computers; and Wi-Fi is available throughout the school building. We have 11 interactive boards located throughout the building, two computer labs, ipad and laptop carts.

The school utilizes Measures of Academic Progress or MAP for our K – 12 interim assessments that measure growth, project proficiency on high-stakes tests, and inform how educators differentiate instruction, evaluate programs, and structure curriculum. These tests are administered three times per year. The resulting data has shown our students score at or above 80% in both reading in math. Our Early Learning Program is licensed and certified for children ages 2 years old until entering kindergarten. The program includes modern, spacious classrooms, social development, certified instructors, and academic curriculum. In addition to rigorous academics, our faculty and staff are also focused on your child’s spiritual formation, leadership skills, personal development, and values. At Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School, our educators infuse excellence into teaching reading, writing, science, math and more. The Holy Name difference is that we partner with you to care for your child’s overall well-being in these formative years and for eternity.
